Abbey Givens, RN
Nurse Abigail Givens recognized an emergency near her as she was leaving work. She did not hesitate to step in and assist Ohio State University Police officers, even though it could have put her in danger.
Nurse Givens encountered an officer responding to the scene of a violent crime from a distance, took the AED from them, and ran it to the victim. She then performed CPR on the victim for over 7 minutes while also directing officers and others in the area on what best to do to help the victim.
Nurse Givens showed extreme bravery and courage. She exemplified her commitment to her profession and The Ohio State University community. I believe it is imperative that Nurse Givens is recognized for what she did.
