Due to Abbey’s skill and diligence, going above and beyond expectations, he is still with us.
My husband was flown to St. Francis with an NSTEMI heart attack and septicemia. He has had many serious health problems over many years. Due to severe peripheral artery disease, he has had over 30 visits to hospitals in the past 17 years. Therefore, we have seen and worked with many great nurses over the years. Due to distance and my husband's request, I stayed at the hospital with him for most of his stay. I observed Abbey working furiously, professionally, and with great care and compassion in conjunction with the Drs to provide the best possible care. I credit Abby, Acacia, and Dr. Y with saving his life. At one point, Abbey was prepared to use ice to aid in bringing his temperature down while waiting for the IV antibiotic to take effect. Due to Abbey’s skill and diligence, going above and beyond expectations, he is still with us.

Again, we have worked with and observed the service of many nurses over the years. Abbey is a remarkable nurse and CHI St Francis is a great example of what a caring, compassionate, and professional hospital should be. Abbey, Acacia, and Dr. Y are a credit to their profession. CHI St. Francis is a phenomenal hospital with many phenomenal people. We noticed Colossians 3:12 on the clothing closet for those in need on the 4th floor on a sheet of paper. We thought perhaps this print could be framed and hung nearby instead. Thank you to all of the kind, loving, compassionate, and patient people who cared for my husband.
