abbie shimer 2, BSN, RN

Abbie has been such a joy and hope for us while my son has been in her care. He is a micro-preemie, and she was one of his nurses early on. You could tell right away that she really cared for her patients, encouraging positive touch, singing, kangaroo care, everything to help him thrive. She has been D's primary nurse for 4 and a half months now, and he's being discharged today. It was always a relief to know when it was Abbie's day to work because I knew D would be in good and capable hands, and with a person that really cared about him, making sure he was not only taken care of but cared for with love. She sang songs to D daily and went above and beyond. We will never forget Abbie and how she helped get us through this long, tough journey!
