My husband was in the ICU for multiple months. What was expected to be a hospital stay of a few weeks turned into a long stay due to several complications. Abby was assigned to him quite a bit. On the last day of my husband's stay as we were at his bedside waiting for him to pass, Abby was not assigned to him. Throughout the day she checked on us several times. She came in and gave each of our family a small jar with a printout of my husband's heartbeat (EKG). It is something that we will hold close forever. She also decorated his room to help make it more cheery during his stay. While her nursing care was exceptional it was her care of him and our entire family that made this awful time much more bearable. We felt so fortunate to have crossed paths with her and we miss her.
