Abby was wonderful with me and my family from day one in ICU. She was one of my nurses during my stay in ICU, but she went above and beyond in my book! She took the time to explain things to me and my family if anyone had questions and if she did not have the answer, she tried to get us one. She was very professional, very caring, very calming. Her bedside manner was exceptional. Anytime I needed her or needed something, she was there without hesitation. She treated me and my family as her own family. Always pleasant, always smiling, yet professional. We appreciate her care for me during my stay in the ICU unit. She understood me at times when even I did not understand myself. She encouraged me and gave me hope of getting out of ICU, which I did, but I wish I was able to remain there for my hospital stay because her level of care was exceptional! Without her and, of course, the doctors, other nurses, and professionals taking care of me, I would not be at home now recouping from my surgery. God blessed UPMC Altoona with a wonderful nurse, Abby! And, of course, all the other nurses they have!
