Netter graduated from Marian College and came to work at the children’s hospital because of her love for kids. Nominated by the mother of a child who was on the 9W unit for three months after a transplant, Netter was recognized for her extraordinary compassion on the job.

The mother said: “Abby was the nurse who took care of our son and our family that first long night while we waited to see if the transplant was happening. The extraordinary compassion she showed our family that night and every night we spent in the hospital was so heartwarming. If we needed anything, she was there to help us, even if she wasn’t our nurse that night. She made our long stay more bearable.”
