Every single shift I have worked with Abby she is seen, at some point, in another patient's room that is not hers. In that room, you can witness Abby teaching and hands-on educating the patient, family, other nurses and staff members. Abby is very caring and each patient touches her in some way. She has a very large heart for every patient. She doesn't let that get in her way during an emergent situation where she is quick to jump in and help in any way she can. I have always admired her soft and loving voice and hearing her interact with her patients. Working by her side has taught me the way I want to be when I become a nurse. Abby will take the time or better yet make the time, even when she has very little. She will go in and help another nurse when they have questions or have never done something before and give expert advice. Seeing Abby's bright smile, laughing in her patient's room and making scared patients smile and feel safe can make this sometimes scary and stressful unit a little brighter!
