I feel that my own words cannot fully capture the impact of this nurse leader’s action because I was not even there during the shift during which this took place, but this had such a ripple effect that I heard about it at home. This leader truly went above and beyond for their team in an extraordinary way. When the unit was significantly short-staffed, this manager stepped in and worked a full night shift assignment. Rather than serving in the ANM role and having the ANM take patients, they personally assumed a full six-patient assignment.

Their willingness to step into direct patient care demonstrated humility, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the nursing profession. They exemplified that no one is above bedside care and that nursing is a lifelong calling.

I am nominating this nurse because they consistently embody what true leaders look like. Anyone can claim to be a leader, but Abdriel showed it through their actions!
