In the whirlwind of hospital routines, I found myself in the care of Abdullah, a compassionate male nurse with a discerning eye for detail. Recovering from surgery, I relied on Abdullah's expertise and kindness during my hospital stay. One day, as Abdullah tended to my needs, he noticed something amiss with my Jackson-Pratt (JP) drain. With a furrowed brow, he examined the fluid draining from it, his instincts telling him that something wasn't right.

He gently explained his concerns, mentioning the unusual color and odor, which could indicate gastrointestinal content, a potentially dangerous complication. Despite initial doubts from some members of the medical team, Abdullah persisted. He meticulously documented his observations and urged the doctors to investigate further. His persistence paid off when it was confirmed that my JP drain was indeed leaking gastrointestinal content, a serious condition that had gone unnoticed.
