I entered the ICU with 2 tubes in my throat and could not talk. Nate sensed my discomfort and attended to me and my needs with compassion and care. When the tubes came out, I was suddenly "alive again" and poor Nate was suddenly subjected to my non-stop verbal communication. He laughed at all of my jokes and listened to me when I had my serious moments of truth-telling. He recognized my efforts to get to know him and listened to my story of negative treatment by my family and saw how positive I tried to be in my life. This poor guy got a doozy of a patient but never treated me like the nuisance I was! Thank you, Nate. You are in the right profession and so dedicated. I was blessed to have you as my nurse! You are a shining example of a great nurse- compassionate, caring, and excellent in your role of nursing.
