Abigail Collins was the primary nurse caring for a man who had been with us for about a week. This patient probably had not even brushed his teeth all week, much less showered. Abi got him to the shower, provided clean clothes and hygiene supplies, and then offered to trim his beard for him. You could hear in his voice how excited and thankful he was for such a simple act of kindness. ER nurses are often too busy for a beard trim but Abi made time in her busy day for it. She also had EVS come and clean the room before he returned from showering.

Multiple staff members commented on how happy the patient looked after being freshly shaven. Abigail Collins went above and beyond to help and make the patient more comfortable. I'm glad Abi took the time to make him feel important.

Not a lot of nurses would have taken the time to help a patient feel "human" again, even if it was just a shower. Abigail Collins is an amazing nurse who goes above and beyond for all her patients in many different ways.

First and foremost, Abigail Collins is very efficient. She has a kind spirit. She's down to earth. You just don't find nurses like her nowadays. She's respectful and pleasant. The world would be so much better if we had nurses like her around.
