Abby treats her patients with kindness and enthusiasm. She helps us to be well informed on Mom's care. When I arrive at the hospital and I see she is the nurse on duty, I feel relieved and comforted knowing she will take good care of my mom. She responds quickly to requests. She demonstrates empathy for not only my mom but for our family. Simple things like encouraging my mom to walk or sit in a chair and turning her to her side so she doesn't get sores in the bed make a world of difference. I realize this may sound like a normal part of a nurse's responsibilities, but my mom was in the hospital for over two weeks and she saw many nurses and Abby was one of the only two who stand out so clearly for the everyday things she does. In addition, she has gone above and beyond to assist my mom and our family during what has been a very difficult time. For example, when I mentioned the importance of continuance of care and asked Abby to arrange for the doctor who was on my mom's service for 5 days previously to be put back on her service, she made that happen. This is only one example but I could list a multitude of examples. She is one of the best nurses on your staff.
