My mother became a patient at your facility after a serious motor vehicle accident that she sustained a spinal cord injury that has left her currently unable to use her legs. Although everyone involved in her care did exceptional, and they all will be remembered, Nurse Abigail Mawhirter, went above and beyond her call of duty. She not only did her duty with the most professionalism every time, she gave my mom such emotional support like I've never seen by a medical care professional. My mother was having a bad "moment" and Abigail came to her bedside took her hand and told her that she is here to share her burden, that she is not alone. My mother was so touched by this gesture. She convinced my mother that she wasn't a person just occupying a bed for the moment. I will be forever grateful for Abigail. Abigail proved that compassion still exists.
