Abbey has been one of my mom's nurses while she has been at Christ battling a rare form of AML.
To say she is an extraordinary nurse is an understatement. She goes above and beyond caring for her patients. Our family is very lucky to have Abbey be assigned to our care.
Because of my mom's condition, my sister moved her wedding to this past Saturday, in the courtyard of the hospital. On top of her already busy workload, Abbey took the time to make sure she could do anything in her power (and with the doctor's approval), to make sure my mom made it to the wedding with her supervision.
As all mothers know, the day their daughter gets married is one of the most important times that they look forward to. And the fact that Abbey played a small part in getting my sister married, means so much to us that word cannot do justice. She is a part of our family forever. The look on my sister's face, knowing that her mom got to see her on her wedding day was priceless.
We have the utmost confidence that my mom will beat this disease. And knowing there is a great support staff like Abbey reinforces our beliefs.
