This young nurse cared for me during an extremely rough time in my life. During a hospital stay, with a pain level even the doctors had not been able to help me manage, Abigail Thackston was kind when I wasn't, was gentle when I made even my own husband's life miserable and instead of distancing herself from me she continued to ask me questions about my life and any other changes until we were able to pinpoint exactly why I was so mean, angry and truthfully, a very difficult patient, while always being kind to me and caring.
It's difficult to explain but without her gentle professional caring treatment, I'm sure the pain and emotional state the pain put me into, I'm not sure I could have calmed down enough to allow the great team of doctors to reach me on a physical, emotional and medical level. For all of these she deserves some extra recognition and while all the nurses and PCAs were great, she was the most helpful in my stay at Christ Hospital and my time where I needed someone to just be a kind friend.
