The demands and hardships placed on the shoulders of nursing can be overwhelming, even during normal times. Saying that those demands have increased during the COVID pandemic would be a tremendous understatement.
While some nurses endure more difficulties than others, everyone shares the burden that healthcare now faces. Maintaining positivity and working as a team is more important than ever, therefore increasing the need for outstanding bedside nursing leaders.
During the early stages of the COVID pandemic, Abigail Walker was instrumental in setting up our reporting process, making it easier for everyone to not only track COVID patients but also to ensure that those patients were getting a call-back in a timely manner.
Abigail continues to make sure that our patients get the screening, testing, and care that they need, along with ensuring that the staff is well informed in order to maintain a safe environment.
Abigail is an extraordinary leader, always professional, and is a shining example of how strong nurses have risen to the occasion during this pandemic.
