Patient story:
As a patient, it is important to be in a place where you will feel safe and comfortable, and this is important for your healing and recovery. I was admitted to the Acute Care Unit in July, and I stayed there for six days. I didn't want to be discharged; my wife, who was my sitter, wanted to adopt all the nurses into our family.

Every morning and night while I was there, I was treated with care and respect, and each nurse was the consummate professional, and they worked as a team. I never felt any animosity between the nurses; each nurse would come into my room with a smile and would explain each procedure to me clearly. I went home and missed them all and missed my time with them. I felt as if I was at a spa, not a hospital.
