On Sunday, my mom needed to go to the emergency department at Liberty hospital. I could tell right away that they were busy. We were quickly brought to the room where we first met an amazing nurse. His name was Adam Bradley. After looking up what a DAISY Award was, the website says, “DAISY Award recognitions honor the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day wherever they practice, in whatever role they serve, and throughout their careers.” Well, I want you all to know how wonderful Adam was. He was incredibly kind to my mother, and I was thankful that she had such a great nurse.

After the physician came in and told us that she could go home, we were getting my mother dressed when we realized that all the clothes were dirty and foul-smelling. At this point, Adam went to try to find something for mom to go home in. He could locate pants, but the shirt would take some time. He then said he didn’t want us to wait a while just for a shirt. At that point, he told my mom, "You could have my undershirt." He took the shirt off his back and handed it to my mom. As I look at what the DAISY foundation recognized, it’s clear that Adam is doing super-human work. We couldn’t thank you enough, Adam.

Thank you, Adam, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
