Adam treated my daughter the way practically anyone, who has a loved one in the hospital - especially like Neurology ICU - would want their loved one to be treated. When her condition worsened, became critical, and she arrived earlier this year at Neurology ICU at Palmetto Health Richland, Adam worked hard immediately to see that my daughter had the best care possible. Although I know most nurses work long hours and their work is difficult, Adam demonstrated a high level of energy, unusual compassion for my daughter, empathy for her family - especially her Mother, Father, and brothers - and a keen interest in ensuring that she received the best possible care. In fact, Adam cared for my daughter as if she were his own child. He gave 100 percent. When Adam left to take care of other patients, he was sorely missed. Adam is a leader.
Thanks to Adam, we will forever remember the professional care that she received while she was a patient in Neurology ICU. Although I witnessed the work of many outstanding, caring nurses elsewhere in the Carolinas and at Palmetto Health Richland during the past year, I am singling out and nominating Adam Brown, RN, for the DAISY Award. Adam is an extraordinary nurse, and my family and I will never forget him.
