Thank you, Adam, for being a compassionate, dedicated, and loyal leader on CICU.
I was the charge nurse on the unit. I received a call at 1820 (right before shift change) from one of our staff nurses in distress and crying. She had just gotten off the causeway bridge on the way to work when she realized she had a flat tire. She was stranded at a gas station and the air pump was not working. Her family was out of the country, and she had no one to help her. Adam was scheduled to work as a charge nurse that night. I called him to see where he was and explained the situation. No questions asked, Adam immediately turned around to get to her and offer help. Adam arrived and changed her tire – getting her to work safely.
Adam is a fantastic leader on the CICU. He approaches everything he does with professionalism, excellence, and a positive attitude. He is someone that I look up to as a colleague. Adam went above and beyond that night to help a co–worker in need. That is what true leadership is all about. Adam deserves to be recognized for not only this situation but for the many ways he demonstrates Ochsner’s Core Values every day. Thank you, Adam, for being a compassionate, dedicated, and loyal leader on CICU. You are appreciated and valued. I am happy to call you my colleague and friend.
