Adam Squance, RN

I was admitted to Leicester Royal Infirmary with three pressure ulcers on my lower back, one of which was large and infected. During my time in A&E, I met Adam, a Tissue Viability Nurse who immediately made me feel better despite the severity of my condition.

After a few days, I was transferred to Leicester General Hospital, where the prognosis was poor. However, thanks to an intervention from another Tissue Viability Nurse,  I was transferred back to Leicester Royal Infirmary and started on vacuum therapy to help close the wounds. While I was on Ward 18, I received exceptional care from many nurses and medical professionals. However, I want to express my sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for the exceptional care and support Adam provided.

Adam is an expert in his field, and I always felt confident knowing he was involved in my care. He consistently made time for me, even when passing through, and his friendly presence was reassuring. He instinctively knew when I was feeling anxious or overwhelmed and always found a way to lift my spirits. I am particularly grateful for the way he ensured my voice was heard and that my options were carefully considered at every stage. His efforts to coordinate a multidisciplinary team to review my case demonstrated his dedication and commitment to the highest standard of patient care.
