Adam Verble, BSN, RN

Prior to clocking in for his shift, Adam was walking down the hall towards the SICU and found me in respiratory distress. He immediately jumped into action by bringing me a chair, wheeling me into an empty room, and checking my vitals. Although I tried not to show it, I was very scared, but Adam put my mind at ease, not only because of his expertise, but because of his funny personality, light-hearted nature, and attention to every detail. He offered to wheel me down to the ED several times, but I refused (typical nurse-patient ha ha!) After a few minutes, my respirations and heart rate returned to normal, but that did not stop Adam from keeping a very close eye on me. He sat with me until I felt normal, and even as he prepared for his shift, he circled back to check on me several times and even asked another nurse to sit with me while he ran the night shift huddle. He came back after the huddle to ensure that I had a ride home and made sure to ask me how I was feeling the next time he saw me. Adam deserves a DAISY Award, not just for his nursing knowledge, which is extensive, but for his caring personality. A soothing tone, a funny comment, and a caring personality are often times the best medicine. He is a credit to our profession, and I was so grateful for his help!
