My husband was admitted to KMC on August 4 with Necrotizing Pancreatitis. He was admitted to a room and given fluids and pain meds.
On August 7, he tried to sit up on bed and his heart rate went to 265, and he went into A-fib. Rapid Response Team arrived and his heart beat was regulated, the team included Adam Wabs, ICU Charge Nurse. He agreed to take my husband as his patient up to the ICU. David's care in ICU was exemplary.
On August 8, after learning more about this disease, we all decided he would get the best care at Harborview in Seattle. He was air flighted on August 8th. After a 7 hour wait in the ER, we were sent to a room in the Trauma/Surgical ICU. Imagine my surprise upon entering the ICU to hear the nurse talking to Adam from KMC. Adam was checking to see that we had arrived and were doing well in Harborview.
We were in Seattle over 5 months, most of that time in ICU. Weekly I would get a text from Adam inquiring about my husband's condition and my welfare, living in a strange city in hotels.
Words cannot describe what Adam's care and concern meant to us! He went way beyond his job description to take care of us, both in KMC and for months afterward. We are very grateful.
