For months, our family planned a vacation to see the Niagara Falls. We came from Illinois, Indiana and New York. None of us had been fortunate to see them before. We were not there 90 minutes when I began having excruciating abdominal pain. I was diaphoretic and lethargic. I was seen in the nearest ER and later transferred to ECMC. From the minute I entered the hospital and later admitted to the 8th floor, I was treated with kindness, respect and total professionalism by the staff. My nurse was Adama. She saw to it that I never had to wait for pain medication. She went about her work in such a way that I felt comfortable that she was knowledgeable and skillful in her job duties, attending to my every need and request. She was quick to find me a private room (her suggestion) because I was far from home, had no car here, and my wife had no other choice than to stay in the room with me. We gratefully appreciate all she has done not only for me, but my family. She even brought us smiles along the way in a stressful and painful situation.
