It is with immense pleasure that I nominate our team member, Terem Adi, RN Case Manager, for the DAISY Award. New to both our unit and the complex role of a Case Manager, Terem consistently demonstrates dedication, empathy and proactive patient advocacy that truly sets her apart. Terem embodies all attributes of a Daisy Award winner - showcasing clinical excellence, profound compassion and an unwavering commitment to patient well-being. She navigates her role with grace, resourcefulness and a drive to always find the best possible outcomes. Terem doesn't just manage cases; she truly cares for each individual, consistently going above and beyond with a positive, patient-centered approach. A prime example of Terem's extraordinary compassion and advocacy occurred recently with a patient who presented with significant social challenges and identified as transgender. A difficult situation arose on the unit, causing distress for the patient and creating tension for staff. Despite this not being her assigned patient, Terem recognized the escalating situation and stepped in without hesitation. She approached the patient with incredible sensitivity and respect, taking the time to truly connect. Terem sat down and engaged in a heartfelt conversation, patiently discussing their care plan and the complexities surrounding discharge. Her exceptional listening and genuine understanding allowed her to effectively de-escalate the situation, calming the patient and alleviating anxieties. This compassionate and inclusive approach was not only felt by the patient but resonated deeply with the entire staff. Thanks to Terem's efforts, the patient felt heard and comfortable, allowing necessary care to be delivered and bringing peace to the unit. Terem's fresh perspective and unwavering commitment make her an invaluable asset to our team and a true champion for our patients. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of our nursing family.

Thank you, Adi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
