Adria is one of those rare nurses who go above and beyond in everything she does! She clearly cares for her patients AND the family members who are with the patients. My 87-year-old father had to have surgery for a hip and femur fracture, and Adria was his nurse. She was truly one of the first nurses who he believed cared about him. He’s had some bad experiences in the past and isn’t a fan of hospitals, but every day he had a smile on his face when she came into the room. She had to do some difficult things (make him move, help him to eliminate, etc.), but every time she did it with deep care and respect, while drawing out his humorous side and occasionally getting him to laugh. 

She also listened and respected every question I asked, and if she didn’t know the answer right away, she would get it. 
It was also the little things…the above and beyond things that she did every day to make Dad's stay more bearable. For instance, she knew how much he liked sweet tea, so she Googled “how to make sweet tea” and personally made him some sweet tea one day when he didn’t have any. Who does this? Clearly, only someone truly interested in her patient’s comfort and happiness, not JUST his medical care! 

My dad had a little scare once when his blood pressure dropped very low, and she got just the right people in there to make sure he was taken care of quickly. Her instincts on what he needed were incredible, and she was often one step ahead of the doctors regarding what Dad needed, but she was also very humble and followed their instructions to the letter, and never once bragged about “being right” when it turned out that she was! 

Adria is a bright light and truly an asset to this hospital. I sincerely hope she can teach other nurses the same kind of care that she exhibits. We were truly blessed by her care.
