My son had to have surgery two days after he was born. He has been in the NICU for almost two weeks. As a first-time mom, this experience has been so hard. All of the nurses have been wonderful, but Louie has been exceptional. He has not only been a nurse but a terrific advocate for my son. When I was struggling emotionally, he listened. He explained every part of my son's care and communicated with the other practitioners on my behalf. When Louie was on the clock, I never worried about leaving my son because I felt confident that Louie would be attentive and take the best care of him. That is a priceless gift to a new mom, peace of mind. He has been cheering my son on to progress so that he is able to come home. He wants to see him well. It's not just a job to Louie; it's a calling.
