My 23-year-old son was in a motorcycle accident. He broke both of his ankles and suffered severe road rash. The pain was intolerable and my son was so scared and nervous because he had deformities to his ankle and foot. His nurse, Adrian, had so many encouraging words for my son. My son has started the process of becoming a firefighter/EMT. He was crying and upset, saying that his dream was over and he would no longer be able to pursue this dream. Adrian gave my son so much encouragement during their entire shift. In fact, even when the shift was over he came to my son and said, “I look forward to seeing you back here as a firefighter and paramedic!” As a mother, that warmed my heart dearly, because what my son needed at that moment was all the encouragement he could get. Adrian made both my son and I feel like he wasn’t just another patient in the ER. Thank you so much!
