He was such a shining light in that scary situation.
Adrian RN was caring for my brother-in-law, D. While I was not there for most of Adrian's shift I do know that he took amazing care of not only D but D’s wife (T) and mother (J). More than once, I heard my sister and J say that Adrian was incredibly compassionate with D. In all the countless tests that had to be performed due to Life Source protocol, Adrian took the time to explain each one in a way they could understand. Adrian also went out of his way to make sure that D was thoroughly washed up, which my sister and J truly appreciated. T also expressed that Adrian treated D with compassion and made her feel that Adrian truly cared.

Lastly, in addition to caring for D, which was a full-time job, Adrian got both T and J blankets and pillows without being asked. He made sure they were well taken care of and asked several times, according to my sister, if they needed anything else. T also commented that Adrian tirelessly worked around her so that she could stay next to D’s bed in a chair so she would be able to hold his hand in some of his last hours on this world. Adrian’s knowledge, compassion, and caring are what nursing is all about. For that reason, I would like to acknowledge the quality of care that he gave my family during a very difficult time.

My mom and I met Adrian the morning before her surgery. It was his night shift. We were very crabby because we couldn’t get any sleep due to the beeping of the monitor. He was so funny and made us feel very much better. He was also so gentle to my mom by washing her before the surgery. Thank you so much. He was such a shining light in that scary situation. People are very lucky to have you as a nurse!

Note: This is Adrian's 2nd DAISY Award!
