As her patient, from the moment we first met, it was palpable that she anchored her concern in one place only: me.
I underwent a 40-session series of TMS treatments almost all of which were conducted by Nurse Hernandez. As her patient, from the moment we first met, it was palpable that she anchored her concern in one place only: me. I should say “concerns” because she made certain that I was comfortable physically intellectually, and emotionally by, for example, adjusting my chair and the room temperature, explaining the technology and procedures clearly, and never failing to be a pleasant person with whom to share the room and even the occasional banter. I myself am retired, but I had a career in a field that I truly loved, which is why I feel a certain kinship with Nurse Hernandez: we lucky ones get to do something we truly love doing.

Anticipation of my TMS procedure was very daunting in that I was very ambivalent about this, though I was also in desperate need of help. Generally. Hospitals are just that, simply a job to many, but from day one of my anxiety with an anticipated 6-week TMS treatment, Adrianna Hernandez LVN consistently performed with professionalism, courteousness, and sympathy, and was beyond expectations. Scheduling questions of treatment was monitored with diligence. Every question was answered. Mrs. Hernandez made certain to my avoiding of any scheduling or conflicts with others. Though TMS seems simple, it does have its unexpected transition period of dredging up old, embedded emotions, and learning of new unfamiliar behavior modifications. Truly believe Mrs. Hernandez is critical and instrumental in my daily care monitoring. Without her compassion for patients, my treatments would be anxiety-ridden.
