Adriana Lee, RN

I am 19 years old, and I was admitted to the NCIMCU in DKA with a new diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. Ariana was my day nurse and, during a particularly challenging time, helped me and my family feel calm and informed. She demonstrated confidence and empathy in every meeting with her and made me laugh in a time of uncertainty. She made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. Ariana also kept me informed about her activities, whether it was blood work or a new drip. The way she spoke felt like talking with a friend, which was very comforting in a time of isolation. With this friendly speech, she also displayed great knowledge of the topics at hand and explained in easy-to-understand terms, which is often needed with a new diagnosis. Thank you, Ariana, for everything you did to help me get better and for easing my and my family’s minds.
