Following open heart surgery and moving from 1 unit to another, I was blessed to have Adrianna Martinez take care of me. During the two partial days and one night I was there, several nurses and others came and went. But Adrianna stood out. She was attentive and responsive. She is genuinely nice and sweet. She went beyond merely providing care as part of her job as a nurse. She actually listened, asked questions, and followed through. She always made me feel like no request was too much. She was willing to take me on as many walks as I was feeling up to, and we enjoyed personal conversations that provided meaning beyond what I was medically experiencing.

She didn't let me just sit and wait to be released. She did everything in her power to get answers and to help my discharge progress. Once discharged, I waited and waited for someone from Transport to get me. She saw this and instead, used a good part of what I confirmed was her break to wheel me to the pharmacy, wait patiently for my prescriptions to be filled, and then take me to our car. Nurses like Adrianna are special. She made me feel valued during a nerve-wrecking time when I wasn't feeling my best and was anxious to go home.

In my professional and personal experience, I see great leadership qualities in her. If she is not a trainer already, she should be. Her influence on other care providers would be instrumental in other patients' recovery and in the continued strong reputation of Banner Boswell Medical Center. Because of her care, I have and will continue to recommend Banner Boswell to people I know.

Thank you, Adrianna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
