Adrienne Ragadio, BSN, RN
When I saw my husband being rolled into ICU after triple bypass surgery, it was a shock! It made my heart stop and I had to take a deep breath. I was at the hospital alone with no family support so it was very difficult. Then our “angel” appeared and she said, “My name is Adrienne and I will be caring for your husband tonight.” Then she smiled very assuredly.
Her positive demeanor immediately relieved my stress. She was very attentive to the monitors all night. I did see that L had low blood pressure and heart rate. She said she had called the critical care doctor so he was on “standby.” That comment spurred on many prayers. However, it also gave me comfort knowing Nurse Adrienne was very watchful and cautious. Thankfully, the situation did not get more dire. I thank God for sending us such an attentive “angel.” She truly cared for L as if he was her own grandfather. We are 3 weeks after surgery now, and he continues to enjoy his family. We will never forget Nurse Adrienne and are eternally grateful for her…our ‘angel.’
