Adrienne Turri was extremely professional in everything. In fact, I was wondering how I was to take my iron medication, and she told me there are little cups and said I can give you a couple to take home until you can get your own. Nurse Adrienne always seems to have a sunny smile. She made my short stay a more tolerable one. Nurse Adrienne even helped smooth my discharge from the hospital with the care she took with the paper work. She did it with efficiency. She called the Pharmacy and got things rolling along. Nurse Adrienne explained about the medications and how to take them; told me about the appointments and follow-ups with the different doctors. She took time to make sure I understood about the medications.

When I was rounding one day, I noticed Adrienne was in the SICU. I asked her why she was in the SICU, and she said that she brought a patient to see a family member. This patient was on Adrienne's home unit of 541 waiting for a procedure, but the family member was in SICU. Adrienne arranged to accompany her patient so that she could visit her loved one. When I told her that I thought it was a wonderful thing for her to do, she shrugged it off. Adrienne has demonstrated her dedication to her patients and to her unit is so many different ways and does as if it were second nature. She is involved in shared governance, is a clinical coach, and regularly serves as a mentor to others on the staff. She absolutely exemplifies excellence in nursing care.
