Adrienne Walter has an incredible passion for nursing, and goes above and beyond for our tiny patients. She designed and helped implement micro-premie hand mitts. Previously, "Goumi mitts" were fitted for only one size. The mitts promote safety of invasive and non-invasive means of ventilation within our patient population. The mitts also provide protection for central lines.
Adrienne worked closely with other clinical nurses and the company who designs the mitts to ensure a quality, safe and effective product. She took measurements of the babies' hands, surveyed staff on two prototypes, and educated families. Adrienne is a true advocate for our tiny patients. She saw a problem and made it her mission to ensure that the best possible care was given.
