I am nominating my nurse Ms. Aeryn Banh because she was a shining light in a dark tunnel for me. I only had her as my nurse for two days, but she really made it easier for me to be comfortable at the behavioral health unit… she made leaving super bittersweet because she made me smile in the first 5 days since being there. She answered all my questions and concerns in a professional and enthusiastic demeanor. As she put in the Queen CD so that I could exercise in the comfort room, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. For that I cannot thank her enough, just easing my mind was a huge part of my transition from the manic episode and state of delusions. Aeryn finally walked me out to my boyfriend’s car & I almost shed a tear while saying goodbye… and while writing this. So, thank you Aeryn for providing me with answers and comfort, which is all anyone needs. We bonded over the mispronunciation of our names when she was going over my discharge paperwork with me. As I drove off, I smiled and yelled out the window “Bye Daisy!”. She looked back and smiled too.
