In my observation, they demonstrate passion, professionalism, and proficiency in patient care duties. They were empathetic in helping me prepare for pre-op and giving me quality care in my post-op return. I observed that this nurse teaches their co-workers in patient support functions. In speaking with them and their co-workers, it is very evident that this nurse is an advocate for supporting Veterans and VA staff. Their patient care knowledge and commitment to giving quality, accurate, and timely care are unmatched. This nurse used active listening with clear and simple instructions that helped me to avoid errors, misunderstandings, and potential problems. This nurse quickly volunteered to transport me to avoid delays getting to my care to meet my spouse. They also loaded my rollator in my van. Their friendly and helpful can-do attitude reflects very well on their excellent patient care service performance.
