What makes Aida an extraordinary nurse is her expert clinical skills, her devotion to her job, and her kind, compassionate spirit. On many occasions, Aida has given of herself to make someone feel better, relieve their burden, or rally others to help a fellow human being. On one of those occasions, Aida had been comforting the wife of a patient in CCU. The wife opened up to Aida that she and her young children were struggling financially being because her husband had become very ill while they were on vacation. They had been away from home for over a month, with only the items they brought for a 2 week vacation. Aida shared this story with others and was able to raise enough money to help this family buy clothes and pay for car repairs.

Another wife of a patient described Aida ad "the wind beneath the wings" of the CCU staff. "I have known Aida since she was a baby nurse and her development as a nurse, and as a human being is phenomenal. She is not self-aggrandizing and is able to make things happen, again with quiet diplomacy and tact. She is one of Marian's amazing treasures.
