When I arrived at TMMC after a particularly vicious car accident, Aidan cared about my well-being. Always there with a smile, an explanation, or just popping his head in to check on me, even when I was no longer in his care, Aidan is everything a nurse should strive to be. I was broken in many ways when I arrived at TMMC; in so much pain I could hardly think straight. Aidan took it upon himself to reintroduce me to using both hands and thinking clearly. I am the type of patient who feels much better after being given detailed explanations over every little thing. Aidan never made me feel that he was rushed, and spoke to me in a manner I could understand, still being foggy from the accident. His wound care is second to none, but more than the wound care it was the positive attitude and true compassion that helped me truly heal.
One night, overcome by the pain I broke down sobbing. I can't express how shocked and grateful I felt when I heard his voice ask me, "Hey, is everything okay?'' I thought I needed a private moment, but I was wrong; what I really needed was someone to show me they really cared. Aidan showed that to me in so many ways. It's a mix of the big things and the little details that, for me, make a truly amazing RN. TMMC has a nurse who is truly top-notch at making a patient feel special and cared for, in every single aspect. Aidan is a DAISY Nurse for his excellence in nursing, his mastery of easing a patient's pain, and his flawless ability to make a sad patient feel like a new and better person. It's people like him, who make everyone in the nursing field, shine a bit brighter.
