Under her leadership, Centra now has dedicated Magnet Coordinators for CSCH and CLGH/CVBH/CMG, as well as a Pathway to Excellence Coordinator for CBMH. Aileen is supportive and always available to us, fostering a culture that promotes Centra's mission, vision, and values.
Our team nominates Aileen Cassada, DNP, RN, RNP, Director of CH Magnet/Centra Nursing Excellence Team,
for the DAISY Leader Award due to her outstanding leadership and contributions to Nursing Excellence at Centra.
We feel her exceptional ability to manage significant projects, build strong teams, and create a supportive, growth-oriented environment for her colleagues demonstrates her worthiness of this award. Aileen’s accomplishments include successfully coordinating CSCH’s first Magnet designation, which earned her the position of Director of CH Magnet. In this capacity, she led the efforts for CLGH/CVBH/CMG’s 5th Magnet submission/site visit and CSCH’s 2nd Magnet submission/site visit, while also organizing the start of CBMH’s 2nd Pathway to Excellence submission. Aileen managed these complex, large-scale projects within a rapid timeframe of just 1.5 years, while simultaneously supporting recognition programs such as the DAISY and TULIP awards, Nurse Excellence Awards, and many other recognition initiatives.

Aileen is supportive and always available to us, fostering a culture that promotes Centra's mission, vision, and values. She places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, professional growth and development, and recognition for our work. For example, she frequently writes handwritten thank-you notes to acknowledge our efforts and contributions, reinforcing a positive and appreciative environment. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Aileen played a key role in rebuilding Centra’s Professional Nursing Governance (PNG) across all campuses.
She is kind, caring, and dedicated to supporting our team both professionally and personally. Her leadership style is hands-on, often involving long-distance travel to various facilities to provide support and show her commitment. She encourages shared decision-making and collaboration and helps build confidence among our team by displaying a “you can do this” attitude. Aileen’s thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and sense of humor make her an effective and respected leader. Her dedication to being a good steward of Centra’s resources and promoting nursing excellence is admirable. She is truly an inspirational, servant leader.
