My husband had the pleasure of being cared for by Aimee. After one day of her care, I asked if she could be assigned to his room the next day. If the third day hadn't been her day off, I would have asked for her again! While visiting my husband, I had many hours to observe Aimee's warm, knowledgeable care of him. It was very comforting to me.
Aimee's nursing talents seemed to be inborn. She anticipated his needs, asked him pertinent questions and listened carefully to his answers. She was always positive and cheerful, a ray of sunshine! She did everything she could to make sure his bed was comfortable even though he is a tall man and doesn't fit comfortably in hospital beds. All tubes and wires were organized so that no one would trip over them and those under her patient's control were readily available to him. These are only a couple of examples.
I could "see" Aimee's thinking talents at work when she was considering options she might use to help my husband. Above all, Aimee knew when she had exhausted all her ideas and called her colleagues for help in emergency situations.
When I told Aimee that she would be a phenomenal nurse practitioner, she shook her head and told me how devoted she was to personal, bedside care. I hope that all her future patients realize their good fortune.
