It is with great pleasure that I nominate Ms. Aimee Valencia for consideration for the DAISY Award. In addition to performing her job as a nurse supervisor at an exemplary level, Aimee demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to her patients, as well as to the people she works within our institution. 

Aimee takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service in the facility. She discerns quickly with the needs and moves efficiently to provide our patients its utmost level of care. Beyond this, she ensures that the nursing staff will deliver standard of care by providing them continuous knowledge support and skills empowerment.

Aimee is a wonderful nurse leader to our institution, patients, and staff. Aimee is the kind of person who gives to give. Beyond the unsolicited and appreciated service, Aimee epitomizes servant leadership and inspires others to give back and pay it forward. When I asked how she managed to do her role as a nurse supervisor aside from being the mother of two, she just smiled and said “If you love your job, nothing will be hard for you in doing what you love”. 

Aimee is helpful, caring, resourceful, and happy to offer service no matter the task. She often performs above and beyond and recently offered her expertise and planning skills. To continue her commitment to serving the patient, hospital, and its people. Over the last 2 years, I have known Aimee to be a fantastic teammate, always cheerful and exceptional in everything she does. Her quick wit and attention to detail have endeared her to her colleagues. 

Aimee’s passion for excellence in our institution undergirds all that she does. That passion drove her to support each nursing staff in preparing for their work and has helped us understand why we are doing this work. Her passion is also energy and drives us to excellence. I am so proud of the leadership that Aimee displayed. She is inspiring and a role model for us all!
