My son E was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had surgery to remove as much of it as possible without leaving him blind. Aimee was his nurse that first night after his craniotomy and I can 100% tell you she is why he has had a tremendous recovery. Those first hours were so touch and go and not only did she take care of E all during the night but she made sure we were okay too.
Her care goes even beyond the patient. Her demeanor, expertise and love was tremendous and it really made a difference. All the nurses we dealt with during this ordeal were wonderful but Aimee touched our hearts even more so. Since then, E has been receiving weekly blood work and monthly chemo and if we don't run into her in the halls of the hospital (or the coffee shop downstairs) greeted with her huge smile and a big hug we go upstairs to find her! Even outside of the hospital walls her love still shines. We've run into her in the community and again her love and bright smile never wavers. Aimee not only saves lives but she is a bright shining star in an otherwise scary dark world. Aimee deserves a whole bunch of DAISY Awards!!
