This young nurse, Aina, came out and greeted us with such a sweet greeting and smile. She introduced herself to us, took us to a little waiting room, and took the time to explain Mom's meds, appointments, and how to care for her.
On Tuesday we went to pick up our mom from St. Joseph since she was being released to come home. Aina Napue was our contact nurse and when my husband advised that we'll bring her clothes to the room that was not a problem. Then not too long after that conversation, my husband called the hospital because he wanted to be sure that he doesn't forget anything last minute to ask. The nurse he spoke to advised him we couldn't go to mom's room and we'd have to meet Aina downstairs at J street. BUT.....when we got to the hospital, what a blessed surprise we walked into. The security pulled up our names and told us, "they're expecting you!" We asked, "what do you mean?" She said, "I have your name on the list to go to the floor to give the nurse your mom's clothes."
Got to the floor, this young nurse, Aina, came out and greeted us with such a sweet greeting and smile. She introduced herself to us, took us to a little waiting room, and took the time to explain Mom's meds, appointments, and how to care for her. In the end, we told her we could help her get mom ready. Aina, in a very compassionate response, said, "no don't worry, I'll get her ready and bring her to you!" That was just a BIG DEAL, and to have her offer. Aina met us downstairs on J street at the curb and wheeled Mom to the car. We had a bit of trouble trying to get Mom in and Aina even offered her assistance, but we got it.
You have a "world-class" employee who deserves recognition. We thanked her and told her how appreciative we were because she treated our mom as if that was her mom. Blessed we were to have her as Mom's nurse. That's the kind of nurse who makes you TRUST your family into their hands. They have a "true heart" to serve with compassion and love.
Maholo, Aina for your sweet spirit of love and caring for our mom. Mom was very blessed to have you and so are we. We've told our children and they were so happy and appreciative. We're talking 7 kids and 26 grandchildren that are very GRATEFUL!! God bless you Aina and Mahalo again!!
