In addition to calming me down, she played a big role in comforting my parents who were shocked and saddened by my diagnosis.
The nurse has been with me and my family since my first weeks at Sidra Hospital until my last appointment five years later. When I first took the medicines, which were by injection at the time, this nurse used to give me the medication. Not only was I afraid of needles, but the medication had severe side effects, making me hate it even more. However, this Nurse with her positivity and caring nature made the process much more tolerable. In addition to calming me down, she played a big role in comforting my parents who were shocked and saddened by my diagnosis. After that, my parents started giving me the medication at home, but we and the nurse would still meet at appointments. Knowing that she would be the nurse doing my biometric scan would make my and my parent's day better. We would catch up on each other's news and make sure all was well. The nurse’s friendliness and uplifting attitude made her a delight to be around and having her as my nurse throughout the last five years was a great pleasure. I wish her all the best.
