Alan and I had a patient together and when I went to check on her, she was having a panic attack, I believe from the reality of open heart surgery hitting. She was inconsolable and Alan walked in to round for our CVTS team. He was able to see that this patient was in emotional distress and kept speaking to her and distracting her. He grabbed her water, opened her curtains and spoke to her about the recent holidays, and asked her questions to help calm her down. He went above and beyond to help this patient and she was so grateful for him! Alan always is truly amazing with all our patients, and we are so happy we have him.
