Alana Douglas, RN

There is a TM that is currently out on FMLA due to an illness and is not doing well. Without having any obligations or ties to this individual, Alana has taken it upon herself to donate her time and nursing care to this person. Today on her day off, this nurse is driving to her house to help shower and care for her. She has plans to look around and see if she needs anything else to help her the best way she can. She has purchased some medical equipment for her out of her own money and plans on making weekly visits to clean and care for her. When I praised her for her kindness and generosity, she simply responded by saying, "We're all a family." This is a prime example of honoring humanity. Very few people are as kind, generous, and thoughtful as she is. She treats patients/coworkers alike as if they were her family.
