When my family and I look back on one of the most difficult times in our lives, nurse Alanah stands out in our hearts. From the moment she stepped into the room, she brought not just medical expertise, but warmth, kindness, and a lightness that lifted us all. Alanah didn't just care for my dad, but embraced our family. She took the time to get to know each of us, learning names, understanding our personalities, and connecting on a human level. She joked around with us, filling our room with laughter.

What set her apart was her attention to the little things. She brought us snacks, sheets, extra towels, anything we needed during our overnight stays. With my dad's cancer, he had many IV lines and PICC lines. She broke it down into terms we could all understand, using similes and connections to the everyday world. I put photos of my family on my dad's wall, and she took the time to ask about each one, including family and pets, building common ground and connection. I truly cannot express how happy she made my dad and how she kept him laughing during these times. She went above and beyond in every aspect. Her presence was clearly genuine. She treated us with humanity and respect. We are forever grateful. Nurses like her are rare. She embodies healing and heart. We love Alanah!
