Recently my 94-year-old mother was in Holy Name's ICU for 8 days. While the entire ICU staff was wonderful I would like to recognize Alanna O'Hara RN as being exceptional. Alanna was assigned to my mother for four shifts. Alanna is a skilled dedicated and compassionate nurse. Alanna was the only nurse during my mother's stay to make it a point to get her out of bed. Alanna worked with the physicians to ensure my mother's plan of care was moving forward. She was an advocate for my mother's care when family was not there. Alanna called me toward the end of her shift to update me on my mother's condition. In my opinion, what makes a healthcare provider exceptional in addition to skill is empathy and being an advocate for your patient. Alanna has both of these qualities. Holy Name is fortunate to have Alanna on staff. Thank you Alanna for providing excellent care for my mother.
