My mother has been in the Cardiac Tower at The Medical Center of Aurora twice in the last week. Both times she was admitted from the ER, and both times Alba was one of her nurses. My mother is almost completely blind, so I was worried about leaving her alone. She cannot see to dial the telephone, for example, nor can she hear on the telephone in the room when anyone calls her. She requires help to order her meals and to identify the food on her plate. Because of her blindness, she also has trouble getting to the bathroom.
Alba has gone above and beyond what I think is required of nurses. When I am unable to reach my mother on the phone, I call Alba and ask for special help. Every time that I have called, she goes into my mother's room and helps her call me. She has also helped my mother order and eat her dinner. My mother is taking Lasix, so her bathroom needs are urgent. Alba always responds quickly to help her to the bathroom. Although Alba is very busy, she responds quickly to help my mother, and I appreciate her so much.
